About me
About Willowhound
Willowhound was built because there isn’t enough support once a dog comes home.
Adoption is often treated as the finish line, when in reality it’s just the beginning. Dogs are expected to adjust to new environments, routines, and expectations without clear guidance, and that’s where confusion, stress, and unwanted behaviours start to show up.
I wanted to create something that actually supports dogs and their people through that transition in a way that is practical, structured, and grounded in how dogs learn.
Because the reality is, a dog will change your life. More often than not, for the better. But only when there is clarity, consistency, and understanding on both sides.
My work is built on experience with both pet dogs and rescues. During my time with Greyhounds As Pets NSW, I developed a strong understanding of the adjustment greyhounds make from racing life into pet homes, and the importance of structure and predictable guidance in that process.
I also work alongside Northshore Dog Rescue, supporting foster carers with behaviour and training prior to adoption, helping dogs build stable foundations before transitioning into their permanent homes.
I have trained under Steve Austin and Vicki Austin, and continue my education with professionals including Dr. Melanie Uhde and Pat Stuart. My approach combines behavioural science, neuroscience, and practical application to create training that is clear, fair, and realistic to maintain.
At Willowhound, the goal is not just to change behaviour, but to help you understand it.
To give you a dog that can think, settle, and respond with clarity, and to give you the skills to guide them with confidence in everyday life.
