Willowhound Home-Stays
Where your dog becomes part of our family while you enjoy your holiday.
Home Stays
A home away from home, with the experience of a dog trainer.
Small-scale, home-based stays in Camperdown for dogs who benefit from individual attention, thoughtful care and a more personal alternative to traditional boarding.
Your dog stays in my home as part of everyday life, with their routine, behaviour, exercise, enrichment and individual needs considered throughout their stay.
ENQUIRE ABOUT A STAY
Going Away Shouldn’t Mean Worrying About Your Dog
Leaving your dog can be hard, especially when they’re sensitive, anxious, particular about their routine or simply not suited to a busy kennel environment.
You want to know they’re not just being fed and exercised. You want to know someone is paying attention to whether they’re eating normally, sleeping properly, coping with the environment and actually enjoying their stay.
That’s why Willowhound Home Stays are deliberately kept small.
Your dog stays in a home environment with me, a professional dog trainer, where I can get to know their individual quirks, routines and preferences and adjust their days accordingly.
What Does a Home Stay Look Like?
There isn’t one schedule every dog has to fit into.
Depending on your dog, their days might include neighbourhood walks, sniffing and exploring, play, enrichment, appropriate social time, training, adventures or simply plenty of opportunity to sleep somewhere comfortable.
Feeding routines, medication, sleeping preferences and existing household routines can all be discussed before their stay.
And because I know being away from your dog can feel strange, you’ll receive photo and video updates so you can see how they’re getting on.
Is a Home Stay Right for My Dog?
Home Stays can be particularly suited to dogs who benefit from a smaller, more predictable environment and individual care.
This can include:
Greyhounds and rescue dogs adjusting to life as pets
Dogs who find large boarding facilities overwhelming
Puppies who need additional supervision and routine
Dogs with particular feeding, medication or management needs
Dogs who prefer a quieter environment
Dogs who simply do better staying in a home rather than a kennel
Your dog doesn’t need to be “perfect” to stay with me.
If they have quirks, sensitivities or behaviours I should know about, tell me. New dogs are assessed individually so I can determine whether my home and any other dogs staying at the time are an appropriate match.
For dogs who cannot share their stay with another boarding dog, an Exclusive Home Stay may be available.

Getting Started Is Simple
1. Tell Me About Your Dog
Send through your dates and a little information about your dog, including their age, breed, routine and anything you think I should know.
2. Meet & Greet
For new dogs, we’ll arrange a meet and greet before confirming their first stay.
This gives me an opportunity to get to know your dog, discuss their routine and make sure a Willowhound Home Stay is the right environment for them.
3. Confirm Your Stay
Once suitability and availability are confirmed, a deposit secures your dates.
Once your deposit has been received, your booking is confirmed.
